Mannings were appointed Main Contractor and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) on this commercial development in East Wall, Dublin 3.
The project, situated on one of Dublin’s main arterial routes within the Dublin Docklands area, incorporated: Demolition of the existing Cahills Printing Works (including removal of existing facades, floor slabs, foundations); Construction of a new 4 storey commercial building incorporating piled foundations, large ground floor supermarket, goods delivery area with dock levellers, goods and passenger lifts, offices, staff and storage facilities; Separate own door 30,000sq ft high spec office accommodation including reception, common area and passenger lifts; Separate own door gym facility; New drive through 2-storey McDonalds restaurant, 2 storey Starbucks coffee shop and office accommodation in a separate building; 117 Parking spaces and associated roads, paths, paving and landscaping works; and upgrade of public infrastructure outside the site boundary.
The project, comprising construction of two new stand-alone buildings on a tight inner-city site on reclaimed land, was positioned adjacent to existing residential, commercial and industrial premises and also incorporated 2 separate green roofs and roof plant facilities. The project required on-going consultation with stakeholders and resident’s groups to facilitate the smooth hand-over within the tight 8-Month programme.
