Mannings were appointed Main Contractor and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) on this high-spec mixed-use development on a tight site in the heart of Castleknock Village.
Situated within a busy ‘village centre’ setting in Dublin City, this development incorporated: Demolition of existing buildings and associated site enabling works; Construction of eight new independent retail units; New café; Two storey medical centre; New residential apartments and 15 dedicated parking space with separate access and security gate; A flagship new Supermarket including 98 surface and under-croft parking spaces and goods loading area; New road infrastructure and upgrade works to the existing arterial route into Dublin City and; A new civic amenity space with outdoor seating and architectural lighting features.
The scheme required installation of curtain walling, cladding and brise soleil to the independent supermarket building, granite stone and brick façade to the medical centre, and brick and alucobond modular cladding to the retail units, and apartments. The retail units also included integrated canopies. The project also incorporated balconies to the high spec residential apartments and green roofs on all three buildings.
Ongoing communication with neighbours, resident’s groups and stakeholders by the Mannings’ site management team was considered to be significant in achieving a seamless handover of this project.
