About Mannings

In the fast-paced and demanding retailing and distribution sectors, Mannings is a byword for the delivery of exceptional quality to highly demanding schedules at on-budget prices. Since 1975 and grounded in their founder James Manning’s uncompromising pursuit of quality and client satisfaction, Mannings have set the gold standard in the construction of supermarkets, warehousing/distribution centres and petrol filling stations and they enjoy a reputation for excellence in the redevelopment of such as high-profile restaurants, specialist retailer installations, high-street financial institution outlets and high-specification office accommodation.

Perhaps one quarter of the Nation’s grocery staples are warehoused and traded through Mannings-constructed facilities. James Manning’s mark is still to be seen in diverse locations from Ireland’s largest department store to her oldest university while today, his successors continue to draw upon his standards, his particular style of doing business, his sense of fair play and social responsibility, the better to leave clients not merely satisfied but delighted. In every major town in Ireland there is at least one example of their endeavour and today, challenging economic circumstances notwithstanding, Mannings continue to devise and deploy solutions which offer value and utility to their clients and to their customers in turn.

Mannings work pro-actively to identify and protect all stakeholders. Their health and safety regime is taken as a model in the construction industry. Always, they work with communities and the various statutory authorities to inspire confidence in and broad acceptance of their various projects.

In recent years and sharing the common concern for protection of the environment, they have moved to develop revised methods of working to reduce the environmental impact of their operations, promoting sustainable building practices and processes. In this regard, the headline project to date, completed with the invaluable support, confidence and encouragement of Tesco Ireland, comprises the first 'PassivHaus' certified Supermarket in the world, Ireland’s first non-domestic building to meet the German PassivHaus Institute’s exceptional standards for energy efficiency. Already, the techniques devised on that project are being applied elsewhere to considerable environmental effect.

Mannings’ activities are grounded in client satisfaction, driven by a continuous and iterative process through which capabilities are matched and re-matched with emerging client requirements. This disposition will remain the focus of all activities into the indefinite future.
